Located on Gorokhovaya Street (St.-Petersburg), cafe «Haricot» occupies the first floor of a former building for rent, where a chemist's used to be. The area has required thorough re-planning. Along the frontage wall there is stretching a suite of guest premises, concurring in a small lobby. There is a mini-bar opposite the cafe's entry. Mirrors expand the space visually. The combination of such various finishing materials as metal, concrete, wood, marble and gold gives the interior design a special charm. Doorways and window openings, the walls and the ceiling in the lobby, air line casing, and radiant gratings shimmer with metallic luster. The fake stove is painted bronze. The walls in the «concrete» room are done up in concrete; the floor here -- in toned match-board. The floor in the «wooden» room is concrete; the walls and the ceiling are match lined. The cafe is equipped with furniture manufactured on the basis of authorial sketches. A number of lighting alternatives is offered in the cafe: soft illumination off the suspended ceiling, brass lampshades above the tables and metal ceiling chandeliers. The glass floor in the lobby and the bar-counter in the «concrete» room are also beautifully illuminated. The palette of the cafe includes various shades of grey as well as red and blue tints.
