In 19th century the famous Latvian merchant Christap Bergs, together with the architect Constantine Pekshen , developed and built up the areas near the capital that were at that time cabbage fields. That is why a cabbage-head is the logo of the huge architectural complex, part of which the hotel "Bergs" is. The hotel itself consists of two buildings - originally separate - and now joined. The eclectic style of the interior fits the whole complex style, where neo-classic and eclectic styles are combined. Such contrary things as African furniture and classic portraits live in harmony here. Modern furniture and lights are neighbors of fireplaces and china of the Bergs. The conference hall is the focus of the hotel. It has a picturesque view that would compete with the famous Old Riga observation towers.
